Channels
Intro to using Channels
Channels or categories are how we keep things organized in the Mailbox and keep teams focused on their work. Conversations and Topics can exist in many channels at the same time so don’t worry about not being able to share.
You can use channels as places for teams to collaborate on different projects or duties. In the image below you can see that we can navigate to different channels centered around upcoming service changes, planning projects and departments.
Creating Channels
Creating a new channel is done in the settings section of the application. Navigate to the settings panel and then click the Channels link in Settings Sections.
Once you are in Channel Settings you can see all of the channels by agency and create a channel using the Add Channel button at the top right of the screen.
Updating a Channel
If you want to update a channel you can navigate to the the channel page by selecting the Update button associated with the channel.
Here you can update the channel name, description and either archive or unarchive a channel
Note
Archiving a channel will hide this channel from users in the Mailbox. This will not delete any of the messages, but it will prevent users from seeing them by default.
