Intro to using Conversations
Adding to the Conversation
Conversations are not static and can be added to. There are two ways to add additional messages to the conversation:
- Email: Simply continue to converse in your original email thread
- Ensure that “[email protected]” is a recipient in the email thread (either “to” or “cc”)
- The Conversation expands as messages are sent from email
- The name of the Conversation can also be modified; simply click the pencil icon next to the current title to modify the name
- In TransitChat:
- Navigate to the bottom of the Conversation
- Input your message in the dialog box “Add your thoughts”
- There are text formatting tools to use (Bold, Italic, Underline)
- Add web links to the message by clicking on the chain icon
- Upload images by clicking on the image button (this is will open a dialog box for you to upload)
Attachments
TransitChat is your place to store your critical files and add context to them. The area to work with Attachments is located below the Map. Attachments are represented as a list.
Adding Attachments
- Email: Any attachments that are part of the originating email will automatically get uploaded into the attachments area
- In TransitChat:
- Click on “Browse” to find the file you’d like to upload
- Once selected, click on “Upload” to upload the file into your conversation
Additional Attachment Actions
- Download: Press the download button to save the desired file to any desired location
- Delete: Press the trash can button to delete the desired file
Status
We added the Status field to help you keep tabs of the current status of the Conversation. By default, the Status of a new conversation is “Open”
Changing the Status of a Conversation
- To modify the status, simply click on the Status dialog to change the status of the Conversation:
- Once a Status is marked “Resolved”, it will display a green check icon
Viewing Resolved Conversations in the Multi-Conversation View
Resolved conversations will be removed from the Multi-Conversation view by default to reduce clutter. To view those resolved conversations:
- Navigate back to the Conversations page
- Click on the Show Resolved toggle
- All resolved Conversations will reappear in the Conversation list
